TRANSMISSION MAY FAIL

The gear shift cam segment stopper may develop a fatigue crack. If not identified this could result in the inability of the rider to select gears.
Remedy
Recall all affected machines to replace the gear shift shaft with a new remedial component.

THROTTLE MAY STICK

Under certain circumstances the Air Filter retaining screw may work loose and fall out potentially getting caught in the throttle valve and preventing it from closing properly
Remedy
Recall affected machines and replace Air Filter with one with a revised fixing

SIDE STAND SWITCH MAY NOT FUNCTION CORRECTLY

There is a possibility that the screws holding the side stand switch may vibrate loose and eventually fall out. The switch would not then function correctly and it may be possible to start the engine and ride the machine with the side stand down.
Remedy
Recall affected machines to replace screws holding the side stand switch with a combination of bolts and nuts.

POSSIBILITY THAT THE TRANSMISSION MAY SEIZE

Yamaha Motor Co. have identified a potential defect whereby the oil delivery pipe to the transmission may possibly become displaced. The reduced level of lubrication may then in extreme cases cause transmission components to seize.
Remedy
Recall potentially affected motorcycles and fit a retaining plate to the oil delivery pipe.
