  9. DRAG LINK JOINTS MAY BE INCORRECTLY TORQUED

    It has been identified that the drag link rod ball joints and/or at the link rod clamp may not have been torqued to the correct specification. It is therefore possible that the securing nuts may become loose. This can result in the drag link rod detaching from the spindle arm or the pitman arm.

    Remedy

    Recall all affected vehicles and check the torque of the securing nuts. If found to be incorrect then replace the drag link.

  10. STEERING MAY FAIL

    On retrofit Low Entry Cab the steering limiter valve does not offload the system pressure correctly. This may cause high stress/forces on the link rod adjusting sleeve and ball joint which could lead to damaged or broken parts. This may lead to loss of steering

    Remedy

    On affected vehicles the pressure limiting valves are to be replaced and adjusted (this is a mandatory operation). The steering link rod should be checked and replaced if there is any sign of stress

  11. TURBO PRESSURE HOSE MAY LEAK

    It has been identified that due to an issue with the crimping process during production the turbo pressure hose may leak. In extreme circumstances it its possible that an oil leak could occur which could result in a risk of a fire if the oil comes into contact with a hot surface.

    Recall all affected vehicles and replace the turbo pressure hose.

  12. POSSIBLE LOSS OF DIRECTIONAL CONTROL

    The material of the steering arm bolts may not be to specification. As a result the bolts could crack and if not rectified the bolts could eventually fail totally causing loss of directional control.

  13. SHORT CIRCUIT MAY OCCUR

    It has been identified that the main switch can crack which can cause an electrical short circuit.

    Remedy

    Recalled vehicles will have initially had the subject switch disconnected. However an exchange switch has now been mae availagble to all customers who require it and will be fitted free of charge.

  14. POSSIBLE TRAILER DETACHMENT

    It has been identified that in adverse conditions the securing pin of the coupling release handle can become unfastened due to an oversize drilling. Loss of the pin can result in the coupling not being securely fastened.

    Remedy

    Operators will be sent a repair kit to secure the pin. In addition a work method advising as to the pre-driving checks that need to be carried out.
