EMS Software Bug on M33B release

Last EMS/ACM SW release introduced a bug in the Regeneration Management system on some B8R and B5LH/TL vehicles. This bug increases the AHI flow at start of regeneration resulting in too much fuel being injected into the muffler. As a consequence there is a risk of very high temperatures inside the muffler with a risk of a thermal event.
Remedy
Volvo retailer will Reprogram the affected ECUs.

FUEL TANK MOUNTING BRACKET JOINT BREAKS/CRACKS

On affected vehicles the fuel tank mounting bracket joint may break/crack with the risk of the fuel tank dropping to the floor and parting from the fuel filler neck resulting in fuel spillage (environmental contamination).
Remedy
On affected vehicles the fuel tank mounting bracket is inspected implementing welding reinforcement to the mounting bracket.

RISK OF ELECTRICAL SHORT CIRCUIT

A potential chafing condition has been identified between the alternator power cables and urea coolant pipe which may result in short circuit. Electrical cables might short circuit.
Remedy
Add a rubber spacer with cable tie to secure power cables from chafing on coolant pipe. If the power cable is identified to be damaged the cable will be replaced.

It has been identified that in certain cases the driver is able to manoeuvre the vehicle with the middle door open without a visual or audible warning. Risk of the vehicle being driven with the middle door open.
Remedy
Recall the vehicles that are likely to be affected and apply software updates to the Instrument Cluster and Body Builder Module to warn the driver when the middle door is open. At speeds below 5 km/h the �Any door open� icon and CHECK lamp are illuminated and at speeds above 5 km/h the �Any door open� icon STOP lamp and audible buzzer are activated.

FUSE BOX CONNECTIONS INSECURE

The flange nut can seize on the thread of the studs in the fuse box which could mean the terminals do not have the correct torque and may be loose. This could cause arcing.
Remedy
Check fuse box; Replace all fuse box cable flange nuts to new correct type nuts and tighten to correct torque. If necessary replace the fuse box

SHORT CIRCUIT MAY OCCUR

A potential chafing condition has been identified between the alternator power cables and P-clamp. If chaffing occurs it may result in a short circuit. This could lead to initially some flickering of certain Malfunction Indicator Lamps on the instrument display. If the concern is not corrected it is possible for a fire to occur.
Remedy
Recall the vehicles that are likely to be affected and replace the current P-clamp with a more robust clamp and secured with additional rubber protection in two locations. If serious cable chafing is identified (insulation worn through) the cable should be replaced.
