  1. ENGINE MAY STALL

    RM/2016/010 · 8 Feb 2016

    8 Feb 2016

    Defect

It is possible for contamination to get between the tappet and the cam and cause surface damage and wear to the cam. If this condition occurs the valve clearance can become large and cause abnormal engine noises and in worst case engine to stall.

    Remedy

Recall the machines that are likely to be affected and check the tappet clearances and in some cases replace cams and adjust tappets.

    Build window

    Built 9 Jul 2012 – 20 Jan 2014

    ~2,691 vehicles affected

  2. ENGINE MAY STALL AND/OR FAIL TO START

    RM/2016/013 · 8 Feb 2016

    8 Feb 2016

    Defect

The adhesive used to fix the circuit board to the outer casing of the regulator/rectifier may have been affected by moisture. Due to the insufficient adhesion the heat generated can cause the circuit board to deform and lift away from the case. This condition causes excessive heat and uncontrolled electric current output which can result in the poor charging to the battery battery discharge the engine stalling and or a No-start condition.

    Remedy

Recall the machines that are likely to be affected and replace the regulator rectifier.

    Build window

    Built 28 Oct 2008 – 31 Aug 2011

    ~21,081 vehicles affected

  3. ENGINE MAY STALL AND/OR FAIL TO START

    RM/2016/004 · 8 Feb 2016

    8 Feb 2016

    Defect

The regulator/rectifier circuit board may have absorbed moisture during storage under high humidity conditions which reduced the strength of the adhesive used to fix the circuit board to the outer casing. Due to the insufficient adhesion the heat generated can cause the circuit board to deform and lift away from the case. This condition causes excessive heat and uncontrolled electric current output which can result in the poor charging to the battery. This can cause the battery to discharge and lead to engine stalling and/or a no-start condition.

    Remedy

Recall the machines that are likely to be affected and replace the regulator/rectifier.

    Build window

    Built 18 Jan 2008 – 31 Aug 2011

    ~21,081 vehicles affected

  4. POSSIBILITY OF TANK DEFORMING AND FUEL LEAK

    RM/2016/012 · 29 Jan 2016

    29 Jan 2016

    Defect

The fuel tank breather may have been positioned incorrectly during assembly and become kinked. If the hose is kinked the air flow through the breather hose will be obstructed and the fuel tank internal vacuum can become high and cause the tank to deform with the possibility damage to the tank and fuel leaking.

    Remedy

Recall the vehicles that are likely to be affected to check the fuel tank breather for airflow. The fuel tank breathers will be replaced. If tank damage is found replace fuel tank.

    Build window

    Built 23 Jan 2013 – 18 Feb 2015

    ~232 vehicles affected

  5. ENGINE MAY CUT OUT

    RM/2011/002 · 18 Apr 2011

    18 Apr 2011

    Defect

Regulator/Rectifier unit may fail in use due to poor adhesion between an internal circuit board and the external heat sink (external casing). resulting in an open circuit and failure. This causes insufficient battery charging current to the battery and can lead to engine stalling and non start when in use.

    Remedy

Replacement of all Regulator/Rectifiers in VIN range with quality assured units.

    Build window

    Built 1 May 2007 – 30 Jun 2010

    ~16,766 vehicles affected
