    On affected vehicles defective passenger airbags may have been fitted. On affected vehicles the passenger airbag should be deactivated and the passenger seat not used until the recall action has been completed.

  3. THE BRACKET OF THE DOUBLE BELT BUCKLE MAY HAVE BEEN DAMAGED DURING THE FORMING PROCESS

    It is possible that the bracket of the double belt buckle has been damaged during the forming process.

    Remedy

    The double belt buckle must be replaced in all affected vehicles.

  4. THE ENGINE OIL MAY POSSIBLY REACH THE BRAKE SERVO THROUGH THE VACUUM HOSE

    It is possible that engine oil reaches the brake servo through the vacuum hose from the tandem pump to the brake servo.

    Remedy

    The vacuum line from the tandem pump is replaced. It must also be checked whether other components have come into contact with oil and therefore need to be replaced too.

  8. STARTER MOTOR MAY MALFUNCTION AND OVERHEAT

    On vehicles with diesel engines and stop/start system the starter motor may be permanently activated because the return spring in the solenoid switch is bent or broken. If the permanent current supply to the starter motor is not noticed overheating of the component with local scorching damage and a vehicle fire is possible.

    Recall the vehicles that are likely to be affected and replace the solenoid switch.

  9. STEERING COLUMN UJ PINCH BOLT MAT NOT BE TIGHTENED TO CORRECT SPECIFICATION

    The steering column UJ pinch bolt may not have been tightened to the correct specification. Under heavy steering loads such as at low speeds movement between UJ and column is possible.

  10. AIR CONDITIONING HIGH PRESSURE HOSE MAY BE FITTED INCORRECTLY

  11. MANUAL CHILD LOCK MAY DISENGAGE WITHOUT WARNING

  12. FUEL MAY LEAK

    On affected vehicles the fuel filter may crack around inlet connection. This will allow fuel to leak which may cause a smell within the vehicle interior and possibly contaminate the road environment. This may affect the handling of the vehicle and of other traffic..

    Check type of filter fitted. If not of improved type then replace with improved filter.

    The bonnet release lever may foul the A pillar housing and not allow the bonnet to close properly. This could in very exceptional circumstances allow the bonnet to open when the vehicle is in motion.

    It has been identified that some SEAT vehicles fitted with right hand drive head airbag equipment due to an assembly error in the wiring may experience incorrect head airbag activation under certain collision conditions.

    Remedy

  15. BOLTS OF THE TANDEM FUEL PUMP COVER MAY BREAK

    It is advised that on some vehicles fitted with a 3 and 4 cylinder pump injector engine the bolts of the tandem fuel pump cover may break due to a bolt production fault. As a result the pump housing will not be tight and a diesel fuel leak may occur.

    Remedy

    Recalled vehicles will have the pump checked for being of a certain manufacture. If found to be within the affected range the pump housing cover bolts will be replaced.

  16. TENSION CRACKS MAY OCCUR ON THE VACUUM PIPE TO THE SERVO

    Tension cracks may occur on the vacuum pipe to the brake servo in the area of the connections due to a manufacturing fault. Should a vacuum pipe leak the brake servo will loose it's function. This will result in an increase of force which must be applied to the brake pedal. But will not result in a total failure of the braking system.

    Remedy

    Recalled vehicles will have the vacuum pipes checked and if necessary replaced.

  17. LEAKAGE FROM FUEL FILLER PIPE.

    Defect

    The handbrake cable may chafe on the fuel filler pipe causing perforation of the pipe and leakage of fuel.

    Remedy

    Recall the affected vehicles for repositioning and securing of the handbrake cable to ensure adequate clearance between the cable and the filler pipe. At the same time any filler pipes found to be perforated will be replaced.
