    Securing nuts at one of the upper steering column attachments may be issing or loose. Also the universal joint cross screw joint in the upper steering column must be checked

    Remedy

    Check nuts are fitted and tightened to the correct tightening torque. Also check the vertical steering column is fitted correctly in the upper steering column universal joint cross rectifying where necessary.

  4. LOSS OF STEERING CONTROL

    The drag link may not have been manufactured to the correct specification. There may be clearance between the draglink nut and the draglink arm which could potentially result in loss of steering control.

    Remedy

    Recall the vehicles that are likely to be affected and check for clearance between the nut and the draglink arm. If there is a gap the draglink arm must be renewed.

  5. DRIVER'S SEAT BACKREST MAY DETACH FROM SEAT BASE

    Due to a deviation in the manufacturing process the back rest on the driver's seat may have a lower durability than designed. This may cause it to come loose or detach.

    Remedy

  6. SAFETY BELT ANCHOR POINT MAY FAIL

    The wiring connectors in the main junction box located in the engine compartment may not have been torqued correctly. This could lead to loose connections initially causing smoke being emitted and if ignored the vehicle not starting.

    Remedy

    Recall the vehicles that are likely to be affected to check whether the torque for the electrical connections are to specification. Where necessary adjust the torque to specification.

  9. BRAKING PERFORMANCE MAY BE LOST

    It is possible that some brake hoses within the brake system may have been manufactured without the crimping of the clamping sleeve. This could result in the detachment of a hose from its connection. If this occurred then it could result in the braking efficiency being lost from a wheel station or the application of the parking brake. In extreme cases this could affect the directional control of the vehicle.

    Remedy

    Recall all affected vehicle to check and if required replace the brake hoses with a quality assured hose.

  11. CYLINDER SIDE SKIRT MAY BECOME DETACHED

    The screws used to secure the side skirt at the cylindrical silencer can lose torque which could result in the side skirt becoming detached from the vehicle.

    It has been identified that during production the nuts on the track rod end clamps may not have been tightened to the correct torque resulting in insufficient clamping force on the joint. Under conditions of high steering load the track rod may detach resulting in loss of steering control.

    Recalled vehicles will have the track rod end clamps checked and changed as necessary.

  21. POSSIBILITY THAT THE STEERING WHEEL POSITION MAY LOOSEN
