CRACKING OF POWER STEERING HYDRAULIC CYLINDER MOUNTING BRACKET

The bracket which mounts the steering hydraulic ram to the chassis is a casting manufactured from an incorrect material. The bracket is too brittle and therefore proven to developing cracks which can give rise to steering difficulties.
Remedy
Brackets on recalled vehicles will be checked for the serial number 3431/31 which indicates that the bracket has been made from the wrong material. If this is the case the bracket will be changed.

It is possible that exhaust gas escaping from a defective silencer seam may melt an adjacent plastic brake pipe and cause inadvertent application of the spring brakes.
Remedy
