  1. CRACKING OF POWER STEERING HYDRAULIC CYLINDER MOUNTING BRACKET

    Defect

    The bracket which mounts the steering hydraulic ram to the chassis is a casting manufactured from an incorrect material. The bracket is too brittle and therefore proven to developing cracks which can give rise to steering difficulties.

    Remedy

    Brackets on recalled vehicles will be checked for the serial number 3431/31 which indicates that the bracket has been made from the wrong material. If this is the case the bracket will be changed.

  2. POSSIBILITY THAT RUBBISH MIGHT ENTER THE AIR INTAKE AND REDUCE CAPACITY

  8. POTENTIAL FAILURE OF STEERING COLUMN SHAFT CONNECTION

    The clamping bolt connecting the upper steering column to the lower steering column might not have the correct clamping force due to the incorrect machining of the shaft clearance hole. In extreme circumstances this could result in disconnection of the shaft and loss of steering control.

  9. POSSIBLE MALFUNCTION OF BRAKE SYSTEM PROTECTION VALVE

  16. POSSIBLE DEFECTIVE SILENCER SEAM

    It is possible that exhaust gas escaping from a defective silencer seam may melt an adjacent plastic brake pipe and cause inadvertent application of the spring brakes.

    Remedy

    Recall the affected vehicles for reinforcement of the silencer seams or replacement with a silencer incorporating superior re-inforcing on both seams.
