  1. INGRESS OF WATER INTO BRAKING SYSTEM

    Defect

    It is possible for water to enter the braking system via the cap of the brake fluid reservoir or via a vent hole between the boosters and master cylinders. Resultant vapour locks and/or corrosion of internal components could render the footbrake ineffective under arduous operating conditions.

    Remedy

    Modify the brake fluid reservoir filler caps and master cylinder/booster venting arrangements to prevent the ingress of water.
