    On affected vehicles there is a risk of the loss of crankshaft reference position that can result in an engine stall as well as loss of the ability to restart the engine. A loss of motive power can cause a vehicle crash without prior warning.

    Remedy

    Install modified software to the Powertrain Control Module (PCM).

  2. Malfunctioning Steering Column Control Module (SCCM)

    On affected vehicles the Steering Column Control Module (SCCM) may have a turn signal self-cancelling anti-jam component out of specification an internal short circuit on the SCCM printed circuit board (PCB) and/or a turn signal lever debouncing time limit which is too short.

    Remedy

    Flash the SCCM with new software and complete the SCCM testing.

    The Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) cooler may be susceptible to thermal fatigue.

    Remedy

    Replace the EGR cooler with a new EGR cooler that is not susceptible to thermal fatigue. In the event the intake manifold is damaged the intake manifold will also be replaced.
