TOWBAR MAY DETACH

26 May 2016Defect
The two horizontal fixing bolts that fix the ball hitch support bar to the tow bar frame may be incorrectly located. This defect can be seen by looking under the rear of the vehicle at the two bolts to ensure they pass through both the bar and the frame. If ignored this could lead to the ball hitch bar becoming loose and tilting and ultimately the fixing bolts could break leading to the tow hitch detaching from the vehicle.
Remedy
On affected vehicles check fitment of ball hitch. Where necessary refit ball hitch with new bolts and tighten to the correct specification.
