1. DAMAGE TO FRONT BRAKE HOSES

   Defect

   The protective wire shroud on the front brake hoses may contact and in extreme cases puncture the rubber outer casing of the hose. This would allow fluid to escape and adversely affect the braking system.

   Remedy

   Operators of all affected vehicles have been contacted and advised to examine the subject hoses. Where a hose does not comply to the latest specification as indicated in the bulletin latest specification hoses will be supplied by OPTARE. The ope

2. POSSIBLE BRAKE IMBALANCE

   Defect

   A batch of braking system hoses may not be to specification. This could result in a narrowing of the hose inner diameter with a possibility of brake imbalance.

   Remedy

   Optare have contacted the operators of all affected vehicles advising that the subject pipes be inspected and the manufacturer advised of any carrying the identification number of the faulty batch. Where suspect pipes are identified Opta

3. POSSIBLE MALFUNCTION OF HANDBRAKE CONTROL VALVE

   Defect

   The handbrake valve may not have been adequately lubricated on initial assembly. This could result in premature wear of the locking plunger with the risk of the handbrake being dislodged from the ON position.

   Remedy

   The manufacturer has written to the operators of all potentially affected vehicles requesting them to examine the handbrake valve and apply a lubricant to the bridge piece. Should the bridge piece be found to be excessively worn the oper

4. POSSIBILITY OF INCORRECT ADAPTORS FITTED TO REAR BRAKE CALIPERS

   There is a possibility that on some vehicles incorrect brake adaptors may have been fitted to the rear brake hydraulic calipers.

   Remedy

   Optare Limited have contacted the operators of all the vehicles possibly affected and advised them to check the subject adaptors are of the correct type. Where incorrect adaptors are identified Optare will supply replacements of the correct
