    For affected vehicles it has been identified that there is potential for movement between the fuel pipe and its retaining clip within the engine bay this movement can potentially lead to wear on the fuel pipe. In an extreme situation this may cause a hole in the fuel pipe resulting in a potential fuel leak.

    Remedy

    Carry out an inspection of the fuel pipe and If identified wear is within limits apply protective Grommet to fuel tube. If wear is judged to be outside acceptable limits or a fuel leak from the fuel pipe is identified replace the fuel pipe.

  4. On affected vehicles the capacitive mat for hand on detection may have been damaged during manufacture of the steering wheel. The steering wheel may falsely detect the driver has their hands on the wheel with ProPilot engaged and not give a warning to place hands back on the wheel.

  14. REAR RIGHT WHEEL ARCH PROTECTOR MAY DEFORM AND RUB AGAINST AND DAMAGE BRAKE HOSE

    In conditions such as high speed and high vehicle loading the rear right wheel arch protector may contact the brake hose. Over time repeated contact could wear through the outer protective cover of the brake hose. This could damage the inner reinforcing braiding and in an extreme case wear a hole in the hose which could lead to brake fluid leakage.

    Remedy

    On affected vehicles re-work the rear wheel arch protector and if necessary replace the brake pipe with new.

  15. REAR OXYGEN SENSOR MAY FAIL

    If an electrical short occurs in the supply to the rear oxygen sensor the senor will fail but the driver will not see an immediate warning. A MIL warning may display after continued driving depending on driving/vehicle characteristics.

  17. POSSIBLE LOSS OF STEERING

    It is possible that the steering wheel boss may not have been produced to the correct specification. If a higher than normal loading is applied to the steering wheel in its normal operation it is possible that the steering wheel boss may separate from the steering column. This can result in a loss of steering control.

    Recall all affected vehicles to check and if necessary replace the steering wheel assembly.

  19. POWER STEERING ASSISTANCE MAY FAIL

    It has been established that the casting for the heat sink on the Electric Power Steering (EPS) control unit may be out of specification. In extreme cases this can cause a failure of the EPS motor which will illuminate a warning light on the dash. Whilst directional control is not affected it is possible that the driver will experience a sudden loss of power assistance.

    Remedy

    Recall all affect vehicles and replace the EPS control unit.

  20. LOSS OF STEERING

    The cover screw securing the pinion shaft may loosen causing noise during steering operation. Continued use in this condition could result in the screw coming out of the gear housing and in certain circumstances cause a loss of steering control.

    Remedy

    Recall the potentially affected vehicles to fit a locking plate to the cover screw that secures the pinion shaft.

    It has been identified that the possibility exists that a needle bearing has been omitted from the steering shaft. Additionally the cover screw may not have been tightened to the correct torque. This may result in the cover screw becoming loose initiating free play and noise within the steering system. Ultimately steering control may be lost.

    Recalled vehicles will have the steering gear inspected. The steering gear will be replaced should this be found to be necessary.

  25. POTENTIAL LOSS OF VEHICLE CONTROL

    It has been identified that the front suspension lower ball joints on some of the subject vehicles have not been fully seated into the hub. This has resulted in the securing bolt not fitting into the groove in the ball joint shank. If the situation goes uncorrected the ball joint could detach which could result in loss of vehicle control.

    Remedy

    Recalled vehicles will be checked for correct location of the ball joint and rectified as necessary.
