Retaining bolts for the timing chain tensioners and cam shaft drive may not have been tightened to the correct specifications. This may cause the timing chain to slacken and with continued use engine damage.
Remedy
On affected vehicles replace timing chain tensioners. Check tensioner guide and camshaft drive retaining screws and if necessary tighten to correct specifications.

FUEL MAY LEAK

On affected vehicles the flange of the fuel pump located in the top of the fuel tank may deteriorate and crack. This may allow fuel to leak.
Remedy
Inspect pump. If flange is cracked replace pump and fit new protective cover. If flange is not cracked fit new protective cover only.

On affected vehicles; Debris form manufacture may be present in the valve block which controls clutch operation and gear selection. This can lead to the clutch not being operated wrong or no gear selection. It is also possible that the engine may stall.
Remedy
Recall vehicles and flush the oil in Duotornic clutch circuit.

TRANSMISSION OIL MAY LEAK

LOSS OF DRIVE

The mounting clamps at the oil lines from the Duonic transmission have been found to be attached incorrectly on certain vehicles. Therefore it is possible an oil line could detach during vehicle operation due to the faulty assembly of the clamps. If the vehicle is used regularly under these circumstances the detachment of the oil hose from the tube may result in automatic transmission fluid escaping. This makes further gear shifting impossible and will make it impossible to drive further.
Remedy
Replace the mounting clamps at the oil line.

FIRE MAY OCCUR

On vehicles with anti-lock brake systems it is possible that the earth of the ABS hydraulic unit to corrode. In the worst cases this could cause the hydraulic motor to run continuously causing the motor to overheat or the corrosion could cause some heat development at the terminal to the ABS hydraulic unit and start a fire.
Remedy
The recalled vehicles will have the earth line for the ABS hydraulic unit replaced and if necessary replace the corroded connector and/or ABS hydraulic unit on all affected vehicles

TRACK ROD COULD BECOME DETACHED

The dust covers which protect the track rod end ball joints may not seal correctly and allow the ingress of water and dirt. As a result the ball joint can wear and cause excessive play in the steering. In extreme cases the track rod could become detached with the consequence that the directional control of the vehicle will be affected.
Remedy
Recalled vehicles will have the track rod ends replaced with modified units.

HANDBRAKE CABLE MAY BREAK

It is possible for the handbrake cable to kink. In extreme cases the cable may break.
Remedy
Recall the vehicles that are likely to be affected and inspect the cable. If no kinking is evident fit a retaining clip that will prevent kinking. If kinking is evident replace the cable with a new cable which has the retaining clip pre-fitted.
