On affected vehicles the aluminium bolts of the steering gear could corrode and break due to the intrusion of moisture.
Remedy
Replace the steering gear mounting bolts on the affected vehicles with steel bolts. Should the bolts break or already be broken change the steering gear.

Remedy
Install a water drain plug in the spare wheel well check for water infiltration and replace the fuel pump control unit if necessary.
