  1. CLUTCH PEDAL MAY DETACH

    Defect

    The clutch pedal may detach from the pedal box due to a non-conformity of the pedal pivot shaft.

    Remedy

    Recall the vehicles that are likely to be affected to fit a new pivot shaft and retaining devices.

  2. STEERING BOX MAY FAIL

    Defect

    Seizure of vehicle steering box resulting in sudden and unexpected loss of steering control of the vehicle. Issue came to light on the investigation of two customer vehicles which experienced the above symptoms. In both cases LTI Vehicles were able to confirm the symptoms and establish the root cause as a displaced retention circlip within the working mechanism of the steering box.

    Remedy

    LTI Vehicles will inform customers of this potential issue and recommend that they stop using their vehicle. A refurbished steering box will be supplied and fitted on all of the affected vehicles as soon as validated parts become available.

  3. STEERING DROP ARM MAY BECOME LOOSE

    Defect

    It is possible that the drop arm on the steering idler shaft may become loose due to the loosing of the drop arm retention nut. In extreme conditions the steering operation may become erratic.

    Remedy

    Recall all affected vehicles for the drop arm retention nut to be removed have Loctite high strength thread sealant added to the threads and refitted then torqued to the appropriate setting.

  4. HANDBRAKE MAY FAIL

    Defect

    It is possible that the handbrake cable may detach from the handbrake lever due to an issue with the quality of the weld on the cable pivot post and the lever. In the worst case this could cause a release of the handbrake.

    Remedy

    Recall affected vehicles and replace the handbrake lever plus associated components.

  5. SHORT CIRCUIT MAY OCCUR

    Defect

    The battery/alternator positive lead connection has been found insecure in its crimped connector to the starter motor on a small number of vehicles. This could cause prolonged engine cranking/difficulty in starting and if they detached from the starter motor during normal driving the engine would eventually loose power. It could also result in the cable electrically shorting against metalic components in the surrounding area.

    Remedy

    Recall the vehicles that are likely to be affected to test the cable fixing and where necessary replace the entire positive lead.

  6. FUEL MAY LEAK

    Fuel injector pipe to fuel pump may leak.

  7. BRAKES MAY FAIL

    Defect

    The brake disc to hub mount bolts may be loose which could when the brakes are applied cause judder and noisy braking. This could eventually result in the failure of the retaining bolts and ultimately the disc being detached from the hub.

    Remedy

    Recall the vehicles that are likely to be affected to fit new bolts with loctite applied and torque the disc to hub fixing bolts to specification.

  8. LOSS OF ENGINE POWER

    It has been identified that due to an incorrect specification the turbo intake hose may deform due to oil contamination. Should this occur the engine power would be significantly reduced resulting in an attainable road speed of less than 20mph.

    Remedy

    Recalled vehicles will have the turbo hose replaced with a quality assured item.

  9. FIRE MAY OCCUR

    Under bonnet fires.

    Remedy

    Recall the vehicles that are likely to be affected to 1. Fit fire retardant shields over the bulkhead sound insulation material 2. Replace the EGR pipes 3. Fit a new EGR heat shield to EGR pipe 4. Check the integrity and fit of all related under bonnet components.

  10. STEERING CONTROL MAY BE LOST

    The axle fastner of the rear axle panhard rod may fail. This will initially cause lateral movement of the axle which if ignored may lead to loss of directional control.
