OIL MAY LEAK
R/2013/086 · 17 Dec 2013
17 Dec 2013Defect
An oil cooler pipe may have insufficient room to move freely. As a result the pipe will abrade. If the concern remains unnoticed oil can leak in the engine bay with an increased risk of fire. Additionally oil can leak onto the road and cause a loss of control to the subject vehicle and other road users. If the driver does not heed the low oil pressure warnings then engine damage could occur.
Remedy
Recall all affected vehicles and replace the oil cooler pipes with a modified oil cooler pipe kit.

FIRE MAY OCCUR
R/2012/120 · 12 Nov 2012
12 Nov 2012Defect
It has been determined that under extreme circumstances the rubber hose section of the VVT oil pipe can leak. A failure of the VVT oil feed pipe may result in oil being deposited onto the engine as well as the exhaust system. This could cause potential engine failure and a potential risk of fire because of the presence of flammable vapour which could result in a crash.
Remedy
The oil feed pipe will be replaced
