  1. BRAKES MAY FAIL

    RM/2017/024 · 25 Jul 2017

    25 Jul 2017

    Defect

Brake caliper assembly may be incomplete on the models referred to above due to deviations in manufacturing at our supplier. The anti-rattle plates and cotters may be missing. This may lead to problems on the brake caliper through to brake failure and therefore to serious consequential events

    Remedy

Check both brake calipers (front and rear) for completeness and in particular whether the anti-rattle plates cotters and pins are present and correctly mounted. If parts are missing then fully assemble with replacement parts in accordance with the repair manual.

    Build window

    Built 24 Apr 2017 – 7 Jun 2017

    ~155 vehicles affected

  2. BRAKING PERFORMANCE MAY BE REDUCED

    RM/2016/038 · 8 Sep 2016

    8 Sep 2016

    Defect

Anomalies in the manufacturing process have resulted in certain batches of hand brake cylinders with defective machining. This can lead to early wear of the sealing cup in the hand brake cylinder thus leading to impaired braking performance.

    Remedy

Recall the machines that are likely to be affected and check the batch number of the hand brake cylinder. If the batch number appears on the affected list replace the hand brake cylinder.

    Build window

    Built 15 Jun 2016 – 12 Jul 2016

    ~73 vehicles affected

  3. CONNECTING ROD MAY FAIL / FRACTURE

    RM/2016/024 · 12 May 2016

    12 May 2016

    Defect

The connecting rod may fail in early life under certain load conditions. The machines in question are designed to be used off road and as such power request is a factor in the control of the machine. If a connecting rod failure occurs in this type machine the rider may be exposed to significant risk.

    Remedy

Recall the machines that are likely to be affected and replace the complete crankshaft.

    Build window

    Built 1 Feb 2016 – 10 Mar 2016

    ~72 vehicles affected

  4. FRONT WHEEL MAY FAIL

    RM/2015/043 · 22 Dec 2015

    22 Dec 2015

    Defect

Due to variations in the spoke manufacturing process some spokes on the front wheel may exhibit quality deviations. Depending on where they are fitted in the wheel care and spoke tension it is possible that individual spokes may break while riding. This can overload the remaining intact spokes and consequently cause them to break which can affected the stability of the machine.

    Remedy

Recall the machines that are likely to be affected and replace the spokes that are fitted to the front wheel.

    Build window

    Built 19 May 2015 – 5 Oct 2015

    ~167 vehicles affected

    RM/2015/034 · 19 Oct 2015

    19 Oct 2015

    Defect

The M12 aluminium fuel pump nut may not be to specification. This can lead to insufficient sealing allowing fuel to leak. In extreme cases the leaking fuel can cause damage or fire.

    Remedy

Recall the machines that are likely to be affected and replace the M12 aluminium fuel pump nut. Where necessary the seal will also be replaced.

    Build window

    Built 29 Jul 2015 – 7 Sep 2015

    ~58 vehicles affected

  6. PISTON ROD MAY DETACH

    RM/2014/034 · 6 Nov 2014

    6 Nov 2014

    Defect

The forks may not have been correctly assembled which could lead to initially knocking and the damping in the affected strut decreasing. If the condition is allowed to progress the inside of the fork will be damaged and the fork may seize.

    Remedy

Recall the machines that are likely to be affected and remove the fork cap. Check the locking nut for correct torque and tighten if necessary.

    Build window

    Built 11 Jun 2014 – 10 Oct 2014

    ~416 vehicles affected
