  1. AIRBAG INFLATOR BODY MAY RUPTURE DURING DEPLOYMENT

    RM/2018/010 · 1 Mar 2018

    1 Mar 2018

    Defect

In the event that the airbag is activated it may overinflate due to overly aggressive combustion of the propellant. As a result the excessive internal pressure may cause the inflator body to rupture and metal fragments may pass through the cushion material causing severe injury to the rider.

    Remedy

On affected machines replace the airbag assembly.

    Build window

    Built 23 Sep 2008 – 22 Oct 2015

    ~460 vehicles affected

  2. AIRBAG MAY FAIL TO DEPLOY CORRECTLY

    RM/2017/004 · 13 Apr 2017

    13 Apr 2017

    Defect

The propellant used in the subject air bag inflators may degrade over time due to heat cycles and exposure to moisture. In the event that the airbag is activated it may overinflate due to overly aggressive combustion of the propellant. The excessive internal pressure may cause the inflator body to rupture and metal fragments may pass through the cushion material causing severe injury to the rider and / or in worst cases a fatality.

    Remedy

Recall the machines that are likely to be affected and replace the airbag.

    Build window

    Built 12 Jun 2008 – 3 Dec 2008

    ~120 vehicles affected

  3. AIRBAG MAY NOT DEPLOY CORRECTLY

    RM/2016/029 · 8 Aug 2016

    8 Aug 2016

    Defect

In the event that the airbag is activated excessive internal pressure may cause the inflator body to rupture and metal fragments may pass through the cushion material causing injury to the rider and / or in worst cases a fatality.

    Remedy

On affected machines a new air bag module will be installed.

    Build window

    Built 5 May 2006 – 5 Aug 2008

  5. REAR BRAKE MAY APPLY UNEXPECTEDLY AND CREATE FIRE RISK

    RM/2015/037 · 4 Dec 2015

    4 Dec 2015

    Defect

The check valve orifice in the brake system may block with deposits resulting in rear brake drag. The unexpected braking/dragging increases the risk of a crash and continued riding may generate sufficient heat to cause fire.

    Remedy

Recall the machines that are likely to be affected and drain the complete brake system. Replace the secondary master cylinder and rear brake master cylinder. Flush the brake system and then refill and bleed.

    Build window

    Built 13 Jun 2000 – 14 Sep 2015

    ~2,314 vehicles affected

  6. REAR BRAKE MAY OVERHEAT WITH A POSSIBILITY OF FIRE

    RM/2011/030 · 13 Feb 2012

    13 Feb 2012

    Defect

It is possible under certain conditions for the compensator port in the Dual Combined Brake System Secondary Master Cylinder to block. This will allow the rear brake to drag with the attendant increase in temperature which eventually could lead to a fire.

    Remedy

Recall the machines that are likely to be affected to inspect the free play of the Secondary Master Cylinder using a special tool to ensure there is no blocking of the port and if necessary replace the Secondary Master Cylinder with a modified part.

    Build window

    Built 13 Jun 2000 – 23 Jun 2009

    ~1,821 vehicles affected

    RM/2001/010 · 8 May 2001

    8 May 2001

    Defect

The crankshaft pulse rotor may develop stress cracks causing ignition loss and the engine to stop.

    Remedy

Recall affected motorcycles and fit a new crankshaft pulse rotor which has improved shape and strength.

    Build window

    From 1 Jan 2001

    ~100 vehicles affected
