1. POSSIBLE DISINTEGRATION OF AIR DRYER

   Defect

   Desiccant granules in the Haldex air dryer can become pulverised and cause an internal blockage in the unit. The consequent pressure increase in the dryer may cause the unit to explode.

   Remedy

   Recall the affected vehicles and depending on chassis type either:- A) On 4500 Series fit a ping tank between the compressor and the air dryer and change the desiccant cartridge. In addition a tamper proof safety valve will be fitted to the dryer

2. POSSIBLE LOSS OF BRAKING SYSTEM AIR PRESSURE.

   Defect

   It is possible that some plastic pipe compression fittings used in the air braking system may not have been crimped correctly. Failure of any of these fittings could result in sudden and rapid air loss to the braking system with either partial loss

   Remedy

   Recall the affected vehicles for inspection of the subject pipe fittings. Any suspect fittings will be replaced using quality assured examples.

3. DISCONNECTION OF CERTAIN BRAKING SYSTEM PUSH-IN FITTINGS

   Defect

   Two instances have occurred whereby push in connections used on the air braking system have disconnected. This has only happened where pipe reducers have been used.

   Remedy

   Recall the affected vehicles and replace all push-in connections on the air braking system with compression joints.
