1. Passenger airbag inflator

   Defect

   In the event that the airbag is activated excessive internal pressure may cause the inflator body to rupture and metal fragments may pass through the cushion material causing injury to the vehicle occupants and / or in worst cases a fatality. The concern is caused by moisture in the air getting past faulty seals and being absorbed by the pyrotechnic biscuits in the inflator. As a result it is more likely to occur sooner in areas of high humidity and high temperature difference.

   Remedy

   Recall the vehicles that are likely to be affected and replace the passenger front air bag module which includes the inflator.

2. Passenger airbag inflator

   Defect

   The front passenger airbag inflator (PAB) may contain propellant that could possibly degrade over a period of time. This may cause metal fragments to pass through the air bag and into the vehicle interior at high speed which may result in injury to vehicle occupants in the event of a deployment event.

   Remedy

   On affected vehicles replace the inflator assembly.

3. 2009 Dodge Durango Driver airbag inflator

   Defect

   On affected vehicles the driver’s airbag inflator housing may rupture due to excessive internal pressure during normal airbag deployment events. An inflator rupture during airbag deployment events could result in metal fragments striking and potentially seriously injuring the vehicle occupant(s).

   Remedy

   Replace the drivers airbag.

4. Rearview camera visibility

   On affected vehicles the rearview camera may not display an image when reverse is selected.

   Remedy

   On the affected vehicles the radio software will be updated to rectify issue

5. Anti-lock brake system module

   Defect

   Affected vehicles may experience an Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS) module software malfunction which can disable the Electronic Stability Control (ESC) system. Failure of the ESC system can in certain driving conditions cause a vehicle crash without prior warning.

   Remedy

   Install modified software to the ABS control module.

6. On affected vehicles the rear spoiler may be over-flush to the roof allowing contact to the roof when opening and/or closing the liftgate. An over-flush rear spoiler may become damaged when opening and/or closing the liftgate which may result in the spoiler becoming partially detached from the vehicle.

   Defect

   On affected vehicles the rear spoiler may be over-flush to the roof allowing contact to the roof when opening and/or closing the liftgate. An over-flush rear spoiler may become damaged when opening and/or closing the liftgate which may result in the spoiler becoming partially detached from the vehicle.

   Remedy

   Affected vehicles will require the clearances and spoiler security checked and if necessary replace the spoiler.

7. THE ELECTRONIC STABILITY CONTROL WARNING LAMP MAY NOT DISPLAY PROPERLY UNDER CERTAIN CONDITIONS

   Defect

   The Antilock Brake System control module may have software which prevents the Electronic Stability Control tell-tale (warning) lamp from displaying properly.

   Remedy

   Update the AMS control module software.

8. THE REAR SPOILER MAY BE FITTED SO IT IS OVER HANGING THE ROOF.

   The rear spoiler may be fitted so it is overhanging the roof allowing contact with the roof when opening or closing the tailgate.

   Remedy

   The rear spoiler will be inspected for correct installation. If needed the upper spoiler section will be replaced and the spoiler reattached to the vehicle.

9. THE RADIO ALLOWS FOR THE REAR VIEW CAMERA TO BE DISPLAYED LONGER THAN THE TIME ALLOWED

   Remedy

   The radio software will need to be inspected and if required updated.

10. Driver airbag inflator

    Defect

    The driver airbag inflator housing may rupture during normal airbag deployment events and metal fragments could injure components. This is more likely to occur if the vehicle has been exposed to high levels of absolute humidity for extended periods of time.

    Remedy

    On affected vehicles replace the driver's air bag inflator.

11. PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG MAY FAIL TO DEPLOY CORRECTLY

    The passenger airbag inflator housing may rupture due to excessive internal pressure during normal airbag deployment events. This could result in an increased chance of occupant injury during certain crash conditions.

    Remedy

    Replace air bag inflator on affected vehicles
