  1. BRAKE PEDAL BRACKET MAY CRACK

    Defect

    There is a possibility that the brake pedal bracket could crack and lead to a malfunction of the brake pedal.

    Remedy

    Recall affected vehicles for inspection and if required replacement of the brake pedal bracket with an improved version.

  2. POTENTIAL LOSS OF STEERING CONTROL

    A number of service exchange steering boxes may fail due to the incorrect position of a circlip of the bevel box which could lead to the input shaft and gear to detach resulting in the loss of steering control.

    Remedy

    Recall affected vehicles and fit a new quality assured bevel box.

  3. STEERING DRAG LINK AND TRACK ROD BALL JOINT CLAMP BOLTS MAY LOOSEN AND AFFECT THE DIRECTIONAL CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE

    The nuts securing the drag link and track rod ball joint clamps may not have been pre-treated. As a result the tightness torque could be too low and the nuts could loosen which in extreme cases could lead to loss of steering.

    Remedy

    Replace suspect nuts/bolts with correct version.

  4. CRACKING OF FRONT AXLE U BOLTS

    On a small batch of vehicles the material quality of the front U bolts is suspect and may result in cracking of the bolts.

    Remedy

    Affected vehicles are being recalled to have the U bolts replaced with quality assured examples.

  5. FAILURE OF POWER STEERING PUMP

    A gear wheel in the power steering pump may crack causing loss of steering power assistance.

    Remedy

    Recall the affected vehicles and replace the power steering pump with a unit having a production date of 20A96 or greater.

  6. INSECURITY OF GEARBOX

    The bolts securing the clutch housing to the gearbox are incorrectly torqued. This may lead to the gearbox becoming loose.

    Remedy

    Recall the affected vehicles and retighten the subject bolts to the correct torque.

  7. INSUFFICIENT TORQUEING OF PROPELLOR SHAFT COUPLING BOLTS

  8. CRACKING OF SPRING SADDLES

    Due to incorrect fitment on production the spring saddles on '1132' tandem axles may crack resulting in insecurity of the rear bogie.

    Remedy

    Recall the affected vehicles for fitment of a modified and improved spring saddle.

  9. POSSIBLE UNSCHEDULED APPLICATION OF SPRING BRAKE

    As a result of possible incorrect fitment the air pipe from the parking brake valve to the connectors on the warning light pressure switch may separate and cause unscheduled application of the spring brake.

    Remedy

    Recall the affected vehicles and check that fitment and installation of the subject pipe conforms to the manufacturers production standard.
