STEERING COLUMN PERFORMANCE DURING AN IMPACT MAY BE COMPROMISED

Because a rivet may be either missing or incorrectly installed in the steering column in the event of an impact the steering column performance could be compromised.
Remedy
Recall the vehicles that are likely to be affected to check and where necessary install a missing rivet or replace an incorrectly installed rivet.

Brake pipes at the brake master cylinder may not be to specification and start leaking. A brake fluid leak can increase the vehicle's stopping distance.

REAR BRAKE PIPES COULD FAIL RESULTING IN A PARTIAL BRAKE SYSTEM LOSS.

It has been identified that there may be insufficient clearance between the steering shaft and the rear brake pipes. Prolonged contact may result in the pipe becoming holed resulting in a partial loss of the braking system.
Remedy
Recalled vehicles will have the brake pipes inspected and replaced if necessary. In every case an additional retaining clip will be installed.

The cup plug on the automatic transmission parking pawl may be incorrectly installed. Thus even when park is selected it may be possible that the vehicle could roll away.
Remedy
Recalled vehicles will have a bracket fitted to the transmission cup plug.

The air bags on the subject vehicles may inadvertently deploy during a three second period after the ignition key has been turned to the off position.
Remedy
