1. VEHICLE IGNITION MAY INADVERTENTLY TURN OFF

   Defect

   It has been identified that if the key ring carries additional weight and the vehicle experiences any extreme road conditions for instance off road or harsh events then the keys can rotate away from the run position on the ignition switch. This will result in the loss of engine power and associated function. Also the air bags will not deploy if the vehicle is involved in a collision.

   Remedy

   Recall all affected vehicles to modify the ignition keys.

4. OIL MAY LEAK FROM DRIVE AXLE

   Defect

   The drive axle/s pinion seal may leak. This will initially lead to oil leaking onto the road noise and transmission drag which if not attended to will damage final drive components and in the worst case the drive axle/s could lock up and control of the vehicle could be lost.

   Remedy

   Recall the vehicles that are likely to be affected to replace the pinion seal/s

5. POSSIBILITY OF BRAKE FAILURE

   Defect

   It has been identified that some vehicles may have insufficient clearance between one or both of the rear brake pipes and the intermediate steering shaft. Should either of the pipes touch the shaft a hole could be worn in the pipe causing brake fluid to leak out. If sufficient brake fluid leaks from the system the brake warning light will illuminate and braking would be limited to two wheels. Once sufficient brake fluid has leaked out of the second pipe; brake failure would occur.

   Remedy

   Recalled vehicles will have a section of the subject pipe replaced with one that has been redesigned to allow sufficient clearance between the brake pipe and the intermediate steering shaft.

6. SUSPENSION MAY SEPARATE

   Defect

   Rear suspension toe link assembly could separate and vehicle control could be compromised.

   Remedy

   Recall the vehicles that are likely to be affected to inspect the number on the toe link assemblies and where necessary replace the assembly.
