  1. THE FUEL COMMON RAIL CONSTRUCTION MAY DEGRADE AND CRACK

    Defect

    The material of the fuel system common rail may degrade and crack with the result that fuel can leak into the engine bay. A situation which if a source of ignition were present could result in a fire.

    Remedy

    Likely to be affected vehicles will be recalled for inspection of the relevant component which will be replaced by a stainless steel item should this be necessary.

  2. ENGINE FUEL RAIL LEAKING

    Defect

    The nylon fuel tubing to the common rail may degrade and crack. This may lead to fuel leakage and in the worst case a fire.

    Remedy

    Recalled vehicles will be inspected for faults and if necessary the fuel rail will be replaced by one constructed of stainless steel
