1. POSSIBLE OIL LEAK AND FAILURE OF GEARBOX

   Defect

   It is possible that following a large number of retarder operations the retarder change over valve springs could fail causing damage to the valve seals which results in oil leaks from the valves. In extreme circumstances total failure of the gearbox due to lack of lubrication can occur.

   Remedy

   Recall affected vehicles and renew the retarder change over valve return springs. Issue service information advising that the springs should be renewed every 250000 kms.

2. POSSIBLE DETACHMENT OF ROOF HATCH

   Defect

   The roof emergency escape hatch may vibrate loose from it's retaining catches and in very windy conditions could detach from the vehicle.

   Remedy

   Affected vehicles are being recalled for the fitment of a modified pin and screw to the roof hatch mechanism and a check on the operation of the hatch operating handle. Where necessary handles will be replaced with longer versions.

3. INTEGRITY OF REAR AXLE SECURING BOLT

   Defect

   The rear axle securing bolts may shear.

   Remedy

   Affected vehicles are being recalled to have the original bolts replaced with quality assured examples.

4. SEIZURE OF FRONT BRAKE ADJUSTER

   Defect

   The front brake caliper brake adjusting mechanism may seize due to the ingress of water over a period of time.

   Remedy

   Recall the affected vehicles and replace the caliper with a version incorporating improved sealing arrangements.
