POTENTIAL OF PEDESTRIAN INJURY

It is possible due to a build up of corrosion that the Flying B mascot may not retract correctly when struck. If the vehicle is involved in a collison with a pedestrian and the mascot does not retract correctly the pedestrian may suffer addiional injuries.
Remedy
Recall the affected vehicles for the mascot mechanism to be replaced with a later version.

ROAD WHEEL MAY BECOME DETACHED

It has been identified that affected vehicles have been fitted with wheel retaining bolts which do not conform to the dimensional specification. This can result in the wheel bolts becoming loose with the possibility that a wheel might detach.
Remedy
Affected vehicles will be fitted with wheel bolts manufactured to the correct dimensional specification.

WHEEL FIXING BOLTS MAY LOOSEN

Due to the possibility of the road wheels having an incorrect finish the potential exists for the wheel fixing bolts to loosen. This defect could lead to the road wheel becoming detached from the hub.
Remedy
Affected vehicles will have all the road wheels including the spare (if it is a full size wheel) and all the wheel fixing bolts replaced

POTENTIAL LOSS OF DIRECTIONAL CONTROL

Due to the fitment of a nut without the specified self-locking feature the potential exists for the front suspension lower ball joint to become disconnected. This may lead to loss of directional control.
Remedy
Recalled vehicles will have both left and right hand front suspension lower ball joint securing nuts replaced.

POSSIBLE FOULING OF FUEL & BRAKE PIPES

The potential exists for a foul to occur between the brake modulator pipe and the fuel pipe entering the fuel cooler and a further foul between the brake modulator pre-charge pump and the brake pipes. This may result in eventual abrasive damage to the pipes and possible leakage
Remedy
Recall likely affected vehicles to check gap between pipes. If found to be too close or if corrosion protection has worn off remedial action will be taken. In the unlikely event of excessive abrasion the affected pipes will be replaced.

AIR CAN ENTER PRIMARY CIRCUIT OF BRAKE MASTER CYLINDER

The low pressure brake fluid feed pipe between the master cylinder and remote reservoir has the potential to trap air which may in certain circumstances cause partial failure of the primary brake circuit.
Remedy
Recall affected vehicles and replace both brake fluid feed hoses and reservoir with a new assembly to revised specification.
